We had a couple of spots open up in one of our 6-month NO DRIFT cohorts. If you’re interested, reply to this email for info.

REJECTING AVERAGE

If you are driving down the highway at 70 MPH and you stare out the side window at the car next to you, what happens?

You unconsciously steer toward them. You drift into their lane.

It brings to mind one of my favorite pictures. This is of the Rio Olympics mens 200M, with Michael Phelps and Chad Le Clos in the image. Instead of focusing on the wall in front of him, on the next stroke, on the moment, Le Clos (who had spent a lot of time pre-race trying to taunt Phelps and play mind games), was looking over at Phelps. Eyes off the prize. Gold medal lost.

One Habit You’ll Keep

By this time of the year, most New Year goals are already slipping. That’s why the habits that last are the simple ones.

AG1 Next Gen is a clinically studied daily health drink that supports gut health, helps fill common nutrient gaps, and supports steady energy.

With just one scoop mixed into cold water, AG1 replaces a multivitamin, probiotics, and more, making it one of the easiest upgrades you can make this year.

This brings us to Rule #3 of NO DRIFT:

You vs You.

We live in a world obsessed with the wrong scoreboard. We are constantly checking the "Leaderboard" of life - who has more money, who has the better job title, whose family looks happier on Instagram.

This is a trap.

When you measure your success by someone else’s metric, you are running their race, not yours. You are navigating by their map.

Comparison is the thief of focus. Comparison is the thief of joy.

You cannot run your fastest race if you are looking over your shoulder.

Those who consistently fight The Drift and live above the line understand that the only competition that actually exists is between Who You Are and Who You Are Capable Of Being.

"There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self."Ernest Hemingway

Beating the guy next to you is easy. He has flaws, he gets tired, he might be running a different race entirely. Beating your former self? That is an infinite game. That is a relentless standard.

The Audit: This week, catch yourself looking sideways. Are you posting that photo to share your life, or to prove you’re winning? Are you working that extra hour to build your legacy, or just to catch up to a competitor?

Stop trying to prove yourself to the spectators that aren’t in the arena.

Pull your eyes back to your own lane. Refocus on what matters. Set your own standard. Run your race.

Live above the line.

For you,
Kevin
